The Sentiment of Sleepers

Today I finished compiling my children's old clothes for the Duck Duck Goose childrens consignment sale for next week.  What I didn't plan for was the rush of sentimental 'Duck Duck Goosebumps' that all these garments would evoke!!!  I sat in my garage in a mush-pot of  memories remembering all the times my little ones wore these things, where we were, what we did, or even all the special people in our lives that contributed to the expanse of a wardrobe we had.  And then-all the "firsts" that occured in these outfits, some of which I would never even know to appreciate.  First words,  first steps, the first full nights sleep in those furry footed sleepers!!  And now my little ones are getting big.  I will soon trade these small clothes for newer, LARGER, ones and my little muchkins will grow to fit them-and Lord willing, continue their lists of firsts.  But don't worry...I not giving up everything........... :0)

I remember doing the same thing and having those same thoughts when Lawson was born and I started going through Easton's old boxes of clothes. It is very heartwarming but also a little sad how quickly they grow up and so many memories slip our mind. Like you said though, there will be lots more firsts to look forward to.
