It is official! We closed on our new house on Tuesday, May 5th, and moving day is here!
Tomorrow we load U-hauls, vans, and anything on wheels to cart our loot to its new dwelling place. Mac reminded me of the silent companion that this home has been in our lives as we moved in a family of 2, and we leave a family of 4. The original office became a nursery, the guest room became a "big boy room", and the game room (home of the air-hockey honor, the Bell Cup) became Studio Bella. Who knew we had so much growing to do when we moved in 6 years ago!
We celebrated our own "going away" party tonight with just the four of us. We had bought an ice cream cake from Cold Stone and had a picnic in our empty living room floor with party hats on. We even sang to ourselves like it was our birthday. As we put the kids to sleep for the last time in their first home, we thanked God that HOME is where all of us are together--not in this house or any other. Athough...there is no place like it.

How exciting! You are such a creative and fun mama! I can't even imagine trying to pack with my little helper. That must have been fun. Can't wait to see the new house!

oh my Amy Bell are these your kids? Didn't they use to be small? I found your blog through Kitchy's. BBell told me you all bought a new house she failed to tell me how cool it looks. Maybe I'll run into you next weekend there when I'm there to see that little niece of mine!!!
